Santiago, since the idea of using the audience as a chorus has already been
discussed, I was wondering if you would consider that roleplaying as well?
My idea was to get the audience involved to the greatest extent possible
and in so doing have them replicate the adventures of Odysseus. What
better way to do that then to have them, yes, play the role (in one form or
another) of Odysseus?
As far as I can tell, one of the original concepts of this project was to
give the audience a strong feeling of the Odyssey through the use of the
InterNet. Having them travel the world (RLs) as Odysseus from the static
location of their computers seems to me a good way of doing this.
In addition, the use of native languages in each of the RLs, as you and
others have suggested, would serve to enhance the feeling of this voyage.
The net result would be that the individual audience member would travel
around the world and be exposed to the adventures and variety of languages
in such a way that hopefully it would have a profound effect on each one of
them, dramatically speaking, of course.
Best,
Lee
