Strictly to the point:
After reading the list some hours after talking by phone with
Gernot/Kispro, I was surprised to see the following words:
"a possibility to redo this prototyp (only one real stage + a webstage)
in Buenos Ayres or Rio if necessary for sponsors ?october 1998
this could be seen similar to a tour of one real stage"
Eventhough I tryed to understand what exactly that means, in any of the
possible meanings I could not figure out the statements that I understood
as an Agreement between Gernot and me: Kispro and Rosenburg. It was:
"Prototyp 8.-13.9.1997 - ars electronica festival, in Linz, Austria
· a meeting of our worldwide team on a real place
· a real staging of 2 or 3 episodia of "oudeis-a world wide odyssey"
· demonstration of virtual and real actors on two stages (Linz/Linz
orLinz/Vienna).******!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
· Demonstration of a real audio transmission (showing the choros)
· Inclusion of the web stage
· general test of the data transmission and possible lags
****** THE REAL STAGE WILL PARTICIPATE on ARS ELETRONICA as a 3rd STAGE.
THIS EXPERIENCE WOULD BE SENDED AS WELL TO ALL OTHER CITIES THROUGH THE
WEB, possibly through video also!
End of September 1997 - ars electronica festival, in Rio, Brazil
WE WOULD DO THE SAME OF THE TEAM IN LINZ, BUT IN RIO, WITH BRAZILIAN
ACTORS AND THE ARTISTIC DIRECTION OF GERNOT (with the help of our team,
from here), AT THE END OF THE THREE-WEEKS-EVENT, WITH ENVIROMENT!
As I have commitments to:
- The local team: 1 Art Director; 2 Archtects; 1 Prop-producer with 5
assistents;
- The Culture Ministery;
- The Museum of Modern Art of Rio;
- The Secretary of Culture of the City of Rio;
- The Vice-President of Telecom/ Rio;
- The Consulate of Austria/Rio; and
- The Brazilian Institute for the Development of Local Governments/IBAM
As well as an official discussion on the terms of Agreement/participation
with :
- The Computer Center of the Brazilian National University - UFRJ
- The Technical Cientific Center of the Catholic University/ RJ
As well as lots of interviews and meetings already organized over the
following days after the hollydays with many private companies to study
their participation on the Worldwide Event through 6 stages (Viena,
Chicago, Buenos Aires, Rio, Web, Perth and Rom). Also to discuss my
Marketing strategy, which includes not only the worldwide press and OnLine
PR, and last, but not least, the sequence of Seminars - possibly with
video-conferences - with political personalities, technical authorities,
intelectuals and artists all engagged on the aspects concerning to
Technology, Art, Telecommunication, Culture and Interinstitutional
links...We are defining the programm early next week!
Well, as you can see, we here in Brazil have done our best (and please,
never forget the specific place that we are occupying on the
tech/communication worldscene), as well as accomplishing all professional
standards that we assumed on our commitments to Kispro from the very first
beginning, hoping that you would correspond to all
you defined on the lists and documents that I received in hand by fax, by
e-mail, by telephone and _personally_ here in Rio!
All in all, this was not only a professional investment but also
finnacial - at my expences! And with this money I could come and go to the
country I have already lived for 5 years and still have family - where I
can easily travel whenever I want to. Then, folks, I still believe that we
have the right conditions to work together and - as gentlemen/women - find
out solutions for 97 which don't exclude any of the partners (like Rio and
Buenos Aires) that _really_ worked on it to make it real as worldwide
project. I still hope that the Austrian team is not thinking only in their
commitments and business in Austria, but in all the Oudeis idea.
Therefore, I appreciate if all of you could be so kind to join this
discussion in order to clear me up these points and to find a better
meaning for the official letters that I and all the Brazilian Institutions
have received by the idea-mail.
Waiting for a prompt communication from all of my Oudeis-partners.
Rio de Janeiro,
Luiz Felippe Rosenburg
