Things are moving very quickly here in the city that never sleeps.
Santiago is a whirlwind of energy fueled mostly by sausages and VERY good
Austrian beer. He is doing excellent work.
Gernot is attempting to fuse the real and virtual in the same fashion as a
supercollider. Though I sometimes (mostly at three in the morning) think
that crushing eleven hydrogen atoms into a single helium atom would be
easier. Karin, who is as natural a charmer as you will ever find,
continues to pull rabbits out of her hat (metaphorically speaking, of
course) a couple of suns here, some monitors there, etc., etc. Ulli, an
artist and great person to hang out with, has some wonderful ideas (we
think a lot alike). Aaron is a great guy and his mind always seems to be
racing at thirty-thousand rpms. His joining the team has been a tremendous
help. Rainer, also a great guy, has come up with some sensational ideas
that will really enhance the performance. I also agree with his politics.
Georg, who has a great sense of humor (I think everyone knows this) is a
wiz with languages and computers. He also tells me that he is a great
surfer though I haven=B4t seen many twelve-foot waves on the Danube.
Of course, I have to mention Juli whose support has been absolutely
essential, not to mention the fact that without the ATHEMOO we would
be...well, I don=B4t even want to think about it. Then, there=B4s Jim who
continues to remind us that there is life in British Columbia and we better
damn well remember it...we hear you, Jim. And, then there=B4s Monika who
has contributed so much to the workshop and, of course, Among Immortals.
Even thousand of miles away in New York she is still a positive force
whose presence is very much felt here in Vienna.
Well, I have to get back to work on the text and storyboard. I have been
here for three weeks and I think I have worked on everything but this
aspect. Anyway, wanted to share these thoughts with all of you.
