Do I understand correctly that Oudeis has a Sun server which we are
using to
set up our own RealAudio server? or is it maybe a workstation that you
have
rigged as a server. Or are we doing the server off the Web host. But
Oudeis
is to have--are you saying we are going to try to play this stuff real
time?
Could be great, lag bumps and all. But I think we have to consider for
the
time being that is between you and Vienna. Nelson has been an
Imagination
Workshop. A lot of good strong seeds have been planted. Now is a time of
vigilant waiting. Mindfulness ready for action.
Send your IP when you are ready. Will be ready to commence testing this
afternoon. New Pueblo clients in our new Pentium lab. Netscape,
Communicator, through a MicroVAX running OpenVMS. Pueblo on two
machines, if
they work could be more like 30 next week. 12-15 across the hall for
faculty
use--still being set up.
Has anyone looked seriously at the SGI equipment that is optimized for
multimedia. They also have their own virtual reality system.
SONY is another area to look. They have a big multi-media virtual
reality
system built around the Community Space Server and the Community Space
browser. Their bug-report machine responds promptly and the real human
follows that up.
