I am not sure why we are talking about *buying* a
computer-projector-screen instead of using whatever they have onsite,
but rear projection screens are brighter, no ambient light, easier to
control, a little more trouble to set up--and standard for theatrical
sets, music videos, etc. A rear screen dress kit we could get used
for maybe $2500; new would cost $5000. That's 10'x8'.
A multisync LCD projector with SVGA and full compatibility runs about
$7500. A three gun setup is $20,000. SVGA? TV standard (250 lines per
inch) is low quality. Not worth doing.
Might get 640x480 unit on a closeout sale for a good price.
Should definitely get a fully adjustable projector table, $200-300.
Estimate $10, 000-15,000 for setup cables, black boxes, etc. That's
Canadian dollars.
