Speak for yourself, Lee.
:begins to sweat
There's been a couple fairly critical looks at oudeis from a range of people.
The ego-stroking time is over and it's time to reassess. Maybe oudeis is
complete. Maybe the people are too tired to keep carrying it. Maybe people think
the Odyssey sucks or is overdone. Maybe the concept needs to change. The
technology certainly has.
:breathes hard
I have learned a lot--like about how lag feels and time zones and textuality and
intermittency.
I suspect, for instance, that we are in the middle of a political vacuum left by
the inherent intermittency of the internet.
:sorries for the hard words of that last sentence. By intermittency, I mean that
the internet has lots of gaps--little ones, big ones. People come and go.
Projects have some consistency. MOO projects shift and change more quickly than
some.
I suspect that oudeis is headed into 1. a reassessment of the concept, 2.
testing 3. dialogue 4. updating.
The intimidation level is gonna have to fall some before we get much of that.
There have been a lot of ideas that seemed expressed in a threatening or abusive
form. But I have not noticed random meanies who just want to bust things up and
rape the women.
:stops dancing and looks at Lee.
Let me urge you to find a little more enthusiasm for the divers views here. If
people speak with passion and color, remember that is what theater is made of
and be glad. Bring a pencil and take notes if you like.
:resumes dancing...
You do a great lament, man. I hope someone is recording this. :brbs
:takes a lap around the gym...
When do the debates begin, man. I'm looking forward to this.
:goes counterclockwise around the gym.
:stops. Wipes the sweat off his face and looks at Lee again.
And what do you think about a contest? a theater contest with prizes and
winners.
:proposes a theater contest.
:'s shirt is getting wet. He:thinks about dancing all night.
