i think this thing ain't going nowhere... and don't want to keep fighting
around something that doesn't interest me anymore. anyway i can't just
dissappear without saying a couple of things (i've done that too many times
before).
Jim: i'm sorry you're still concerned about that discussion we had (was it
a year ago?). i ended up thinking it was a big confusion. i still think the
idea is a good one. i know it's not 'conceptually new or innovative' (i
have said this a couple of zillion times... daes anybody _read_ what other
people are writing?). it's a good idea that was there before almost anybody
in this list --including me-- got in the project. it sounds good and it's
something interesting to do (both for us and for the audience).
Lee: i will not tell a story about how i think things were going in vienna
before ARS, etc. let me just say i don't agree at all with your mail. there
were a lot of us there (oh, but you're omniscient... forgot it!); we worked
a lot, something finally was shown, and that's it. Vienna is one of the
best things i did this year.
so, i'm sorry for leaving, but i'm also relieved. i hope i'll keep in touch
with some of you, and maybe sometime we can do something together.
merry christmas,
santiago
