i _think_ its like a telephone. voice gets through ok, but music (in the
traditional sense!) doesn't. should check it on www sites with realaudio.
i'll post a couple of urls later.

i don't know if the script is linear. if it is, maybe it should stick to
the story structure, but --as most of the audience will know the story--
you can play a lot with it and still keep it understandable. i'm not a good
writer, but think you can collapse full paragraphs to a single word when
working with known texts, i.e.:
"listen... secret... closer... ears... words... love you"
could bu understood as
"listen, do you want to know a secret, do you promise not to tell (uouo-o)
closer, let me whisper in your ear, say the words you long to hear: i'm in
love with you (uuuu-u-u.)"
if the context makes you think about the beatles!

wow! think this depends on each one, and usual sci-fi sounds work good but
are ugly. there's a piece by j. cage i listen to a lot when connected, so i
guess the sound of the piece works for me: it's "four3", for 12 rainsticks,
violin & two pianos. the resulting sound (of the piece) is much like a soft
wind/rain with bits of piano over it. i can think of internet sound as a
wind.

about music/the chorus:

if you think "music is dressed silence", then any sound can be music, and
the quality is part of the timbre of the sound. like having the trumpet
player put a mute, you can have the samples change timbres by using
different qualities or effects.
another one: you can have live players scattered around the stages (the
stages themselves being scattered around the world), and do the same thing
as with actor's voices (send them to the other stages). no synchronicity
needed... let sounds live by themselves, and travel freely. after all this
is what it's all about.
