I'd like to introduce a principle of "locality": one of the points is that
we won't have unlimited bandwith between the stages; I fear that it will
be barely enough to transfer the sensor/lighting data and maybe sound in
a rather low quality (I'm always thinking of urugay as the worst example).
Therefore I don't like the thought of transferring to much pictures between
stages. This leads to the concept of a WWW server close to each stage: this
WWW server provides a web surfer with the information of the local stage,
together with "position information" and text from other stages (the overall
impression of the performance). this is what I call "locality".
transferring pictures between the stage and the local web server is no big
deal because we can estimate the required bandwith for text/sound/images
and buy (lease) the line accordingly.
If the web surfer wants to see what's happening on the other stages (i.e.,
in brazil), he has to connect to the oudeis brazil web server. and live
with possible timeouts & congestions.

during my search for internet audio software, I made a mental mistake. I
thought that a RealAudio server would be enough to fullfill all the audio
needs of oudeis (transfer between stages and serving the cybersurfers). I
forgot the cyber chor.
Since realaudio client software is easy to install for websurfers and
available for a wide range of platforms, we will have no other choice than
to use it, but we will have to mix in the cyberchor audio in some way.
I'll investigate on this topic.
