Regarding b (possible collisions), I am assuming that whatever method is
used to determine the stereo coordinates of the choros will take into
account the locations of real and virtual actors since we don't want the
sound of the choros coming from the positions of the actors (an
audio/visual collision). This, along with the fact that the positions of
the light cones representing the choros would correspond to the stereo
locations of the choros make the possibility of a collision very unlikely.
One other thing, to distinguish them from the virtual actors, the choros
cluster could be made much dimmer so it is more suggestive and less
intrusive.
