even though the "big" time of discussing seems to be over for the moment in
this work of progress, I want to keep everybody updated about developments
and invite you to bring yourself in again, as we already developed some
really challenging and fascinating things here on this list!
the latest "status quo" of the screens that are used on the stages (RL and
webstage) beside the action is:
The screens should be used for helping the audience understanding what is
going on on the stage even if they do not understand the language of the
virtual actor, because the VA speaks in his own mother tongue, and to give
information even during the netlags of even if the real audio transmission
is "not that perfect"
Besides that a graphic should visualize the journey our "Datapaket called
Odysseus" is doing and they should help to involve the audience accessing
through the world wide web.
screen 1)
Shows the "routing" of odysseus, a metaphor for a kind of traveling
(please correct me in the following descriptions if I am wrong)
Router: is a computer, that forwards messages in networks
routing: is forwarding of a (data)packet
the Route: the path through a Network from start to destination
screen 2)=20
shows the "music"
between the episodia one can see how it is manipulated by the cyberaudience
between the stasima one can see AND hear how this manipulation is put into
music
(santiago, what is the status quo of the music??)
screen 3)=20
Stage directions
a very short version of stage directions, written in a kind of Programming
Language.
used for making clear that the greek gods already preprogrammed the path of
odysseus, and in its shorten language should be easy and fast to read for
the audience, if something in the ongoing is unclear
maybe we could use this screen also to show some error messages if the
light cones do not work because of net lags ?
:-)
screen 4)
Screen in the mother tongue of the stages =3D the translation of Homers Text
there it is intended to have more than the Dialog text, also the verses we
took for the stage directions. But the Dialog should kind of =84pop" out, so
it would be clear what "should be heard" and this also should be easy and
fast to read.
I hope that these screens will help to stress the importance of the actual
play, and will be used only additional to the stage.
we have to be careful that they are designed in a way that they will not be
more important than the stage itself!
hope anybody of the creative oudeis group is well!
