That was me. [:puts his hand up and smiles sheepishly.] See December 18
reply to msg on Web Design (and I don't mean monosodium glutamate). I'm
afraid I haven't been much of a participant. My hardware pooped out
shortly after that msg. I did observe from a lab at school, met Twyla
once after I was too late for a meeting, and eventually got character on
the ATHEMOO. (I like MOOs. Last week Twister taught me how to THINK.)
Does that count? I can't claim to have a new baby at home, but I do have
a new mother board--my fingers really wanted to type mother bard. I
think I'll keep it.

It is clear to me that only a miracle will get me to Linz. (I *am* going
to Honolulu in June to give a paper on Computer Conferences and Creative
Writing, so don't feel too sorry for me. That will leave me with just
about enough cash to buy a pack of matches at the local pub when I get
home.) But maybe I can play a useful role from here. I can play online
audience.

What do you think a person should have in the way of techno-goodies to
be able to view the show? Will it be "Lynx friendly?" Probably not. Will
it come on a chat channel? Do you know Pueblo? I have just recently been
using it as my MOO client and like it a lot. I think MOOs are good for
events and Pueblo allows graphics, sound, and avatars. But making the
technical ante too high can close the door to most of the audience. I am
only partly joking about Lynx friendliness. Pueblo is free. Maybe Chaco
Systems would sponsor.
