sorry that I write my impressions of the performance in the cafe stein
that late - after working several weeks without breaks & free weekends,
I definitely had to take some time off. and, apart from that, my
computer at home was severely broken and I found time to fix & replace
broken parts and re-install the lost parts of the operating system just
today. I haven't red all your messages concerning this topic so far,
but I'll try to catch up. so, here we go:
1) the two days before the performance were a complete mental desaster
for me. everything broke down, nothing worked, no time, nobody there
and everyone arrived at the last minute. And just when at least a bit
of the whole bunch worked, everybody had to go because it was past
midnight and the cafe closing (and all the others had to be at their
offices in the morning). Working in this loud, noisy environment in the
cafe was a pain in the ass. My nervs aren't strong enough to stay cool
in such situations.
santiago: please apologize my rude behaviour during the talk session,
my nervs lay blank as the never did before. It wasn't meant personally.
2) to make it short: In the last minutes, I decided to play the
shockwave movies. They worked quite fine, they were in the proper
sequence but a bit out of sync, because starting them up took quite
long. since the resolution/distance of the screen wasn't optimal, there
were only a big part of the sw files but nothing else (no moo). the
last animation (exodus) crashed the computer, but it didn't matter,
because ...
3) ... nobody joined the performance. there were only me, the sun guy,
the sound guy, irene, the photographer (a friend of mine), the guy with
the video camera and erich (?) from the theater. nobody else noticed,
except one person who explicitely asked for the oudeis performance but
left before or shortly after the beginning of the performance. my
personal reasons for this lack of interest: wrong place (the "room" was
to separated from the rest of the cafe) and wrong time (cafe stein is
nearly empty at 18:00 o clock).
4) the sound quality was quite good, but mischas voice was rather quiet
compared with the sw sounds.
etc.
conclusio: the performance in the cafe stein wasn't worth all the
effort, the troubles, the time and the mental stress because there was
no audience. frustrating.
lee, santiago: I fear that we won't see each other personally before
you leave, I'm sorry for that. Take only the good memories with you and
leave the bad ones back here in Vienna.

"Hey, Dad. Can I borrow the time machine tonight ?"
"Sure, son. Just be sure you have it back before you leave."
