Have just read through log of our session today. I plan to be online by
6p Vienna time tamale, Sunday. I have created Virtual_Actor and computer
has sent password to Georg. I am working on press release to be sent out
after ATHEMOO First Sunday Seminar tomorrow.
School has just started for many in the US, so if there is a small turnout
at the First Sunday Seminar, please don't be distressed. Actually,
regardless of the turnout, this session has been a good flash-point for
the project, giving us a goal for a full rehearsal which is what we never
had this summer....so that is good :-)
I was glad to read that the rehearsal in Vienna went better than expected.
For tomorrow, I will change my name to MALE_VOICE (as much as that *pains*
the feminist in me ;-) and suggest that perhaps Boris might want to change
his name to NetTranslator.1 and Twyla to NetTranslator.2
but.....
A DECISION TO BE MADE - Monika expressed at one point (can no longer
distinguish when) that the idea was to *show* oudeis team process. So we
need to decide whether we like the idea of using NetTranslators as char
names or whether to use rl names of persons doing translations.
my two cents... I suggest using NetTranslators because it is consistent
with using MOOMC and MALE VOICE. Because we don't have time to fully
debate this, will someone - Monika? Lee? - just make a decision
BAD NEWS......as some of you may know, the computer in my office at the
unviersity is currently in pieces on the desk, a long sad story. But, the
bad news is that as I typed the last lines of the last paragraph, the
screen on my laptop at home has gone whitish....this is bad news.. I don't
know if it will go out during the session or the rehearsal or whatever.
I can barely see what I am typing now. :-(
You must understand, it is Sat evening here, NO computer lab is open at
the time we need to be doing our thing tamale. I am going to TRY to find
a way to use a computer in a colleague's office, tho I"m not sure how I
will contact folks to ask.
Whatever is wrong with this computer, I don't dare having the entire
monitor go out *during* our performance. I will head into town at 5am
tamale morning to try to solve this. If I don't show up, please do not be
angry. I will do everything in my power to find a computer to use, but
this being the weekend I'm at a severe disadvantage.
Hang in there...I will either be here or try to send a message.
