Re: screens and sound status quo

My man,

Sounds like you need to get laid. I can tell you that I have heard about
your diet and I think you need more fiber (eat your veggies, raw salad
especially). Increase your intake of HDLs too. Tuna fish is good--not the
kind that get caught with dolphins in the net. The ones from Thailand are
supposed to be caught using a different technique. Red wine, I am told,
up your HDLs too. Some of this stuff tastes like diesel fuel, so you
might want to shop around.

Hang in there with Macromedia. Remember to say the words, 'oudeis--a
world-wide odyssey' to them as often as you can work it into the
conversation. Wait for an appropriate time and ask if they would like to
be sponsors. Accept money if it is offered. Invite them to the site. See
if they have someone close to Linz.

And Mr. P (don't take offense at this)

be polite, eh? I know you can do it.

About the graphics and sound, not to worry about us in Nelson. Our unit
includes John Cooper, a man in his 60's (formerly of the USA) who has
made his living all these years as a painter. He will be in the Station
Manor--actually painting. It will be sort of like one of the Paris salons
of the 30s. Hard to describe his work. Magical landscapes doesn't
include enough. Unfortunately he doesn't have a web site yet. It will be
a big coup for us if we can help him do that. (I am telling you this in
confidence--all of you. If you tell anyone I said it, I'll call you a
liar.)

George Koochin, Russian Doukhobor painter and monumental artist trained
in Moscow has also expressed interest. Younger guy, very good fine line
work. Murals. Dark, Slavic sense of humour. I would really like to get
them together.

Greg Martin, the site-coordinator for Nelson, is a composer, songwriter,
singer, guitar-piano improvisateur. (Are you there, Zak? Jump in and
object if you feel like it.) He is going to play a few tunes. I like the
devotional stuff, myself, but he covers a lot of ground. I can't wait to
hear what he is going to do. Who knows what will happen. Gregg has been
working on a tape of "The Tooth," a new story by Ada Robichaud, a really
outrageous piece by an emerging new Canadian writer. With luck we might
have a web click for that in time for Friday.

I am going to bring my sax and work on arrangements for a couple of
tune/concepts related to the oudeis follies. One is an up tempo hip/funky
blues called "Ogygia." The other one is more of a mysterious triplet feel
thingy called "1ikaW." (Guess who, eh?) There are a couple of others but
they don't really relate to this project. Kind of raucous really. As you
know, I do the invocation and have some poems on classical and Greek
themes that will be new even to people who know my work

So we will have the eyes and ears well-stroked. We want the files from
you in order to cover for you in case something goes down.

I will have more about the Nelson site later, maybe tomorrow, more likely
early in the week.

love,
Mother
